Vol. 123 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Living Wage Commission.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if a request has been made to the Government by the delegates to the Dublin Trades Council for the appointment of a living wage commission and if it is proposed to appoint such a commission.

I have received no request on the lines indicated.

Does the Parliamentary Secretary not consider that it would be a guide and assistance to the Government to have such a commission established to advise the Government on the question of a living wage?

I do not think so.
