Vol. 123 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donnybrook Housing Inquiry.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the cause of the delay in publishing the findings of the inspector of his Department who presided over the inquiry in connection with the compulsory acquisition Order for lands at Donnybrook, required in connection with the housing scheme in that area, and whether in this connection he is aware that Dublin Corporation recently passed a resolution pressing for the expedition of the report and whether, in view of the paucity of sites with adequate drainage facilities available, he will undertake to arrange for the publication of the report forthwith.

There has been no avoidable delay in this matter. The question of the exercise of compulsory powers as proposed by the corporation is sub judice and I am not in a position to make any advance comment on the case. I hope, however, to be in a position to notify my decision to the corporation in the very near future.
