Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Differential Renting Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state what local authorities are now operating differential renting schemes and, in each case, when the scheme commenced.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Chinn Comhairle, to have it circulated in the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

Schemes of rents differentiated on an income basis have been approved in respect of one or more housing schemes in the following areas. As the dates of commencement of the renting schemes are not readily available, the dates of approval are given.

Is the Minister aware that the rents charged under this scheme are considered excessive and are causing great hardships amongst new tenants? Will he have the matter further investigated?
