Vol. 123 No. 8

- Army Re-Attestation.

asked the Minister for Defence whether a circular was issued discouraging men with ten years' service in the Army from re-attesting; and, if so, if he will state the reason for this action and if this circular has now been withdrawn.

I am not aware that a circular has been issued discouraging soldiers with ten years' service in the Forces from extending their Army service.

Will the Minister say if any circular was issued within the past six weeks and withdrawn within a period of two or three days after issue?

The question I was asked was whether a circular had been issued in relation to people with ten years' service. I have replied that I am not aware of any such circular.
