Vol. 123 No. 8

- Erection of Factories.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if any consideration has been given to the suggestion that the Industrial Development Authority should be given funds wherewith to erect factories for suitable industries with a view to selling on the hire-purchase system or leasing these factories to local interests; and, if so, with what result.

The suggestion referred to in the Deputy's question like many other proposals for the development of industry has been considered, but the suggestion is not one that can be accepted without advertence to its full implications and no final decision has yet been made.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary say if, when a final decision is arrived at, any information will be conveyed to the House at that time?

I have no objection to giving information when a decision is arrived at.
