asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether a decision has yet been taken on the application of Galway Harbour Commissioners for financial assistance for their scheme of harbour improvement; and, if so, if he will indicate the nature of the decision.

At the request of my Department the Galway Harbour Commissioners have furnished certain additional information required for the consideration of their application for financial assistance towards development works at Galway harbour. This information is being examined and I hope that a decision may shortly be taken.
