Vol. 123 No. 8

- Dublin-Balbriggan Road Improvement.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give further consideration to the need for widening and improvement of the main Dublin-Balbriggan road with a view to providing a grant for this purpose.

The selection of road works to be executed on this road is primarily a matter for the Dublin County Council. A main road improvement grant of £18,000 and a main road upkeep grant of £33,858 have been allocated from the Road Fund to the Dublin County Council for the current financial year; out of these the council proposes to execute works on this road at Courtlough, Santry, Balrothery, Cloghran and Knocknagin. The grants already notified to local authorities in the current financial year are the maximum which can be made available and it is not possible to allocate further grants at present.
