Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Economic Problem of Gaeltacht Areas.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce, if in view of the importance of the people of the Gaeltacht to the movement for the revival of Irish, the Government envisage any special steps to deal with the economic problem of the Gaeltacht areas.

This matter is under active consideration at the moment.

Will he give an undertaking that the effective interests established there by the previous Government will continue and that these interests will be supported as far as possible as an earnest of the good faith of the Government in this matter?

There is more industrial development in Connemara at the present time than there was at any time in the past.

What about the tomato industry and the toy industry?

Would the Deputy say what happened to the toy industry?
