Vol. 123 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - State Capital Expenditure.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the extent to which the Estimates of State capital expenditure during 1950-51, given by him under various headings in the course of the Budget Statement on May 3rd last, are likely to be realised; whether any significant departure from these Estimates has become necessary; and, if so, the reasons therefor; and, furthermore, if he will state the total amount borrowed to date for the purpose of this programme.

Revised Estimates of State capital expenditure during the financial year 1950-51 are not available. Actual expenditure in the first six months under the same headings as in the Budget Statement was given in my reply on 9th November to a question by Deputy Lehane. Particulars of the amounts raised by borrowing and of advances from the Central Fund to meet capital expenditure are shown in the weekly Exchequer statement.

It is not the practice to publish revised Estimates of expenditure in the course of the financial year.
