Vol. 123 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fall in Pig Deliveries.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he can account for the fall in pig deliveries to bacon curing factories between the 25th October, the date of the removal of the export ban on all pigs and its reimposition on 8th November, 1950, since according to the reply to Question No. 5 of 6th December, no fat pigs were exported over the land frontier during that period.

The answer is "No".

Why? Will the Minister indicate to producers here the importance of having discussions with the British with a view to the designation of a centre in the Six Counties at which our surplus pigs can be sold at profitable prices if the ban were removed?

The Deputy seems to be asking a supplementary question relating to Question No. 33, which has not yet been reached.

I am asking a supplementary question on Question No.33.

But that question has not been answered yet.
