Vol. 123 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unestablished Service.

Mr. A. Byrne

asked the Minister for Finance if he will reckon for pension purposes the unestablished service of those officers who were made permanent in their posts through reorganisation in the public interest, many of whom have ten to 20 years' unestablished service and have retired, or are due to retire, on small pensions without any allowance for their ten to 20 years' unestablished service.

I regret that I cannot see my way to modify existing practice as regards the reckoning of unestablished service for pension under the Superannuation Acts.
