asked the Minister for Local Government whether final arrangements have been made to provide a suitable cemetery at Balgriffin in view of the fact that many families are compelled to seek burial space in different cemeteries owing to lack of accommodation in family burial grounds and local cemeteries.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cemetery for Balgriffin.
Arrangements have been made by Dublin County Council to provide a new cemetery at Balgriffin. The land has been acquired compulsorily and contract documents for the work of laying out the burial ground have been approved by my Department. It is understood that tenders will be invited when the question of the amount of compensation to be paid for the site has been settled. This question can be settled by arbitration if agreement cannot be reached on the amount to be paid.
