Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age Pensioners in Cavan.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the number of persons in receipt of old age pensions in County Cavan and the total sum paid in each of the years 1947, 1948, 1949 and 1950.

Statistics as to the numbers of pensions in payment in each county are compiled once each year, i.e., in respect of the last Friday in December. The number of pensions in payment under the Old Age Pensions Acts in County Cavan on the last Friday in each of the years referred to in the question was:—

Figures are not available as to the amounts paid out in each county each year in respect of old age and blind pensions. On the basis of the pensions in payment on the last Friday in each of the years referred to in the question, the total yearly value of the pensions in payment in County Cavan was:—
