asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the amounts of the total annual charges for (a) Civil Service pensions, and (b) superannuation for other classes of public servants for 1951-52, whether any calculation has been made to show the capital value of the charges for superannuation falling upon the Exchequer and whether he can give the figures.

Particulars of the estimated annual charges for Civil Service pensions for 1951-52 will be found in the Estimates for Public Services under Votes 16 and 54. Particulars of the estimated annual charges for that year for superannuation for other classes of public servants will be found under Votes 16, 40, 41, 42 and 57. In addition charges borne on the Central Fund in respect of ministerial, judicial and other pensions for 1951-52 are estimated at £19,031. No estimate is available of the capital value of these charges.
