Vol. 125 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Council of Education.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state the nature of the work done by the Council of Education since its inception and if he has satisfied himself that the council is fulfilling its functions in accordance with his expectations.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state (a) how many meetings of the Council of Education have been held since it was set up, and (b) how many members attended all the meetings and how many members attended none.

With your permission, a Chinn Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 7 and 8 together.

I would refer the Deputy to an answer given by me on this matter on Thursday last, 5th April. The council has my complete confidence. It is a voluntary body which decides its own routine and methods. I do not interfere in any way in its work.
