Vol. 125 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Medals for Army Personnel.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state when it is hoped to issue long-service medals to Army personnel and whether they will be invested with full ceremonial.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply on the 5th instant to a similar question tabled by Deputy Peadar Cowan.

The regulations will provide that presentations of the medals to serving personnel will, as far as military exigencies permit, be made the occasions of formal ceremonial parades of the units to which the recipients are attached.
