Vol. 125 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Civil Defence Plans.

Major de Valera

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state whether any survey and inspection has yet been made of the sites and location of air raid shelters and similar installations to be provided in the City of Dublin in the event of an emergency; and, if so, whether any decisions have yet been made as to the number type and location of such shelters and installations.

Major de Valera

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state whether any arrangements have yet been made with the Department of Local Government or the Dublin Corporation for the provision of an auxiliary fire service in the City of Dublin to augment the existing Dublin fire-fighting services.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 42 and 43 together. The position in regard to civil defence plans for the City of Dublin was indicated in my reply to the Deputy's question No. 21 on 12th April, 1951, to which I have nothing to add.
