asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state what proportion of the chlorine required for the purification and treatment of water supplies to towns and cities is manufactured in this country and what proportion is imported, and if he will state generally the places of origin of the chlorine supplies at present used for such purposes.

Chlorine required for the purposes mentioned is not manufactured in this country. It is imported from Great Britain.
