Vol. 126 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Allocation of County Dublin Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands whether tenants have been selected to occupy any portion of the Carter estate, Killsallaghan, by the Land Commission; and, if so, whether he will indicate the number of holdings allocated and the names of selected tenants.

Possession was obtained recently of the lands of Newbarn on the Carter estate. A small plot has been allocated to the Diocesan Trustees as a school site and a scheme has been prepared for the allotment of part of the remaining lands. It would be undesirable and contrary to practice to disclose particulars of the scheme proposals at this stage.

May we take it that, as a general principle, none of the estate will be made available to migrants but will be given to local people in County Dublin?

I have nothing to add to my reply.
