Vol. 126 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Water Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the Kerry County Council notified his Department of the urgency for carrying through water and sewerage schemes at Milltown, Rathmore, Farranfore and Gneeveguilla, County Kerry; and, if so, whether he will arrange for the early co-operation of his Department in this urgent matter.

I have received no communication from the Kerry County Council on the lines referred to by the Deputy. The council applied on 16th June, 1951, for approval to the appointment of consulting engineers for two water supply schemes (Farranfore and Dungegan-Ballinskelligs) and one sewerage scheme (Sneem). The approval sought has been given. Preliminary plans for Rathmore sewerage scheme were approved last April and the submission of contract documents is awaited. Consulting engineers for Milltown water and sewerage schemes were approved last September and the submission of preliminary plans is awaited.
