Vol. 126 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Introduction of Arbitration Bill.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether he proposes to introduce an Arbitration Bill in accordance with the decision of the previous Government.

Mr. Boland

A provisional draft of an Arbitration Bill which was prepared at the instance of the former Attorney-General by the director of the newly-established statute law reform and consolidation branch of the Attorney-General's Office is at present under examination. So far as I am aware the draft was never before the previous Government nor has it been considered by the present Government and I cannot anticipate the Government's decision.

Can the Minister give any indication as to when he will be able to bring it before the Government?

Mr. Boland

I cannot. It is under examination.

Will the Minister try to expedite it?

Mr. Boland

I always try to get things done as quickly as possible.
