Vol. 126 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Condition of Cork City Houses.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will get a report from the city medical officer of health as to whether any or all of the houses in Washbroo Lane, Fairhill, Cork, are unfit for human habitation.

I am informed by the Cork Corporation that a report has already been received from the city medical officer in respect of 30 houses in Washbroo Lane, as a result of which action will be taken to secure the demolition of 29 of the dwellings when alternative accommodation is available for the residents.

Is the Minister aware that there are 4,500 other families waiting for houses?

I understand that.
