Vol. 126 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of Oil Tankers.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if consideration has been given to the desirability of Irish Shipping, Limited, adding a number of oil tankers to its present fleet, in view of this country's dependence on the importation of diesel oil, fuel oil, petrol and lubricating oil for many essential purposes.

Proposals for the development of the mercantile marine, including the acquisition of tanker tonnage, are under consideration.
