Vol. 126 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Parish Agent Scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when he proposes to inaugurate the parish agent scheme in the congested areas, in lieu of the A.O. and A.A.O. scheme in operation heretofore.

Mr. Walsh

I am not in a position to fix a date, but arrangements are being made for the holding of a competition for the filling of the posts of parish agent in the congested districts.

Is the Minister aware that before I left office the examination was in progress? Is it still in progress?

Mr. Walsh

It was not in progress before the Deputy left office.

By the Civil Service Commissioners?

Mr. Walsh

It was not in progress.

I will not make a liar out of the Minister but my information was that it was.
