Vol. 126 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Division.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what estates in County Kildare at present held by the Land Commission are awaiting division, and the acreage and location of each estate.

There are approximately 4,275 acres of land, ranging in quality from bog and cutaway to good arable and pasture, on 25 estates and holdings on the hands of the Land Commission in County Kildare. Much of this area is bog and waste, difficult to dispose of, and comprises the unallotted portions of some 58,000 acres in the county which came into the possession of the Land Commission in the course of the past 30 years.

It would be undesirable and contrary to practice to supply in respect of each individual parcel the detailed information requested.

asked the Minister for Lands what steps, if any, have been taken towards the acquisition for distribution of the lands of Mrs. Coll, Maidstone Castle, Dromin, Bruree, County Limerick.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of these lands but they are having an inspection made.
