Vol. 126 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Meath Waterworks Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the reason for the delay in giving sanction to the waterworks scheme for Nobber, County Meath.

Preliminary proposals, providing for a water supply for Nobber and extensions at a later date to serve Kilmainhamwood and Kings-court vicinity, were submitted by the Meath County Council last April. These proposals have since been examined and the county council have now been informed that, having regard to the high cost of the proposals in relation to the population to be served and to the fact that the scheme serving Nobber only originally proposed by the council would cost considerably less, the council should give the matter further consideration.
