Vol. 126 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Salmon.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that it is the practice of fish dealers to purchase young salmon of less than 6 lb. at a price less than the price of large salmon which are sold to consumers at the large salmon price; and, if so, if he will take steps to ensure that such young "peal" are sold at a reduced price or that the fishermen get the advantage of receiving the prevailing salmon price at the time of buying.

Salmon prices are not controlled and I do not propose to institute control at this stage.
