Vol. 126 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Hides and Pelts.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if it is proposed to revise the prices at present being paid for cattle hides and sheep pelts; and, if so, when it is expected that the revised price schedule will come into operation.

The position regarding hides and sheep pelts is being examined. The importance of making an early announcement on the subject is fully appreciated.

Will due regard be had to the reactions of the price fixed for cattle hides on the prospects of our dressed meat exports and on the price level of meat for human consumption on the home market?

Yes, certainly.
