Vol. 126 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bacon Pig Prices.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is now prepared to increase the guaranteed price of bacon pigs from £11 per hundredweight to £12 10s. 0d. per hundredweight in accordance with a statement made by him recently in the House.

Mr. Walsh

The Deputy appears to be mistaken in attributing to me a statement in the House recently about guaranteeing a price of £12 10s 0d. per cwt. for bacon pigs. The price of £11 per cwt. results of course from the agreement made by my predecessor in May, 1951.

The current price, in fact, is about £15.

That is the price across the Border.
