Vol. 127 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Passport Regulation.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he is aware that a person who is a citizen of this State applying for a passport to travel abroad has first to produce the written consent of his or her wife or husband to travel before a passport is issued; and, if so, if the Minister will state the reason for this regulation and whether he is now prepared to alter or cancel it.

I have had this whole matter examined and am having instructions issued for the immediate discontinuance of the regulation referred to.
