Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Afforestation in West Cork.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will indicate (a) the area of lands offered to the Forestry Division in West Cork, (b) the area acquired or to be acquired, and (c) the forestry programme for the coming year in this area.

The area offered to the Forestry Division in West Cork is 4,930 acres. The area acquired is 5,264 acres; the Department has agreed to purchase 888 acres and negotiations for the purchase of 669 acres are proceeding. The proposed planting programme for the present season is 327 acres.
