Vol. 127 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of F.C.A. Hall.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will arrange for the immediate erection of a new F.C.A. hall at Walsh Island, Geashill, Offaly, and have accommodation provided for the training activities and the parades of the F.C.A., in view of the fact that application was made for erection of a hall some time ago; further, if he will indicate the present position as regards the application mentioned.

As it was only during the month of October that my Department became aware of the fact that the accommodation in the old school house is not now available to the unit concerned, it is not possible to arrange for the immediate erection of a new F.C.A. hall at Walsh Island.

I am, however, having the position examined and will notify the Deputy of the result.

In view of the fact that in Walsh Island there is one of the best groups of the F.C.A., will the Minister instruct his Department to see that they will be the first to be provided with a hall?

I will certainly do that.
