Vol. 127 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unemployment—Berehaven Peninsula.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that serious unemployment exists in the Berehaven peninsula, County Cork; and, if so, if he will state what steps the Government propose to take to relieve the unemployment.

Allocations from employment schemes funds have been made for the Berehaven peninsula this year, in common with other parts of the country, in proportion to the number of men in receipt of unemployment assistance in the area. It is anticipated that work under some of these schemes will start next week.
