Vol. 127 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state how many housing grants applied for remain unpaid in the West Cork area.

Registers relating to housing grants are kept in county order and do not readily disclose separate figures for a particular part of a county. The special compilation of the information requested by the Deputy would impose an unjustifiable demand on the time of staff.

Would the Minister indicate how many housing grants have been delayed in the whole of County Cork and what he is going to do about speeding up in this matter?

When the Deputy asks that, I will answer it.

Is it in order for the Minister to evade his responsibility by giving an answer in unintelligible jargon?
