Vol. 127 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Daingean (Offaly) Sewerage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that in Daingean, County Offaly, the sewerage scheme is six years laid and is not as yet working; and, if so, whether he will state (1) the reasons for delay, (2) the amount spent on the scheme to date, (3) the estimated cost to put the scheme in operation, and (4) when it is proposed to have the scheme completed to the satisfaction of the local people.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given on the 8th instant to a question on this subject.

Instalments of loan and grants amounting to a total of £10,660 have been issued to the sanitary authority in respect of the scheme. Pending the submission of final accounts by the sanitary authority, it is not possible to indicate the all-in cost of the scheme.
