Vol. 127 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milk and Wheat Price Increases.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the amount involved in the recent increases in the price of (a) milk, and (b) wheat, and how much of the increase it is intended will be borne by the taxpayer and by the consumer.

Mr. Walsh

I would direct the Deputy's attention to my reply to Deputy Norton's question on 8th November in which particulars of recent price increases were set out. So far as wheat and milk are concerned, the question of the determination of any further adjustment of the distribution, as between the taxpayer and the consumer, of the additional costs arising from the increases in prices will depend on the provisions to be made in the annual Budget.
