Vol. 127 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cleaning of Watercourses.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware of the neglected condition of the watercourses on the Land Commission bog at Gooig, Castleconnell, County Limerick, and if he has received a request from a number of holders to have these watercourses cleaned, as they have been heretofore, by the Land Commission; and, if so, if he will give instructions to have this work carried out.

The Land Commission have no further responsibility for the maintenance of the watercourses on this bog and they do not propose to carry out any improvements to them. The bog was allotted in 1937 and the watercourses were put in good repair It is a matter for the present owners of the bog to maintain these water courses in good condition. Most of the allotments are vested in the users.
