Vol. 127 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laoighis Drainage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received proposals from the Laoighis County Council for a grant under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, for the purpose of carrying out drainage work on the Fishogue River, near Carlow, County Laoighis; and if he will state what action, if any, he has taken or proposes taking regarding these proposals.

Proposals were received as indicated by the Deputy and, after examination and local inspection by my advisers, the county council was made aware of technical problems involved in the proposals which required further consideration. I understand that the matter is being further examined accordingly, and that a report is being prepared by the local engineering staff.
