Written Answer. - Dressed Meat Trade.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the name and address of persons or firms to whom facilities are being made available in connection with the dressed meat trade and also the names of persons or firms proposing to establish suitable premises for the purpose of expanding this trade and the places at which such premises will be located.

The following are the names and addresses of persons registered under the Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) Acts who hold licences or permits to engage in the export trade in dressed meat:—

A number of other persons and firms have informed my Department that they propose to establish premises for the purpose of exporting dressed meat but I have no function in regard to such premises until an application is made under Section 8 of the Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) Act, 1930, for their registration. Accordingly, I am not in a position to furnish the information requested in the second part of the question.
