Vol. 128 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Public Works Office.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state if unskilled workers without service in the Defence Forces were taken into employment in the Office of Public Works since 13th June last; and, if so, the manner of their recruitment and the number so recruited.

Unskilled workers employed on work for the Commissioners of Public Works are normally recruited through the employment exchanges where it is the practice to give preference to applicants with service in the Defence Forces. The commissioners have, however, no record of such service in individual cases.
