Vol. 128 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kildare Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have acquired the Kelly estate at Maddenstown, Curragh Camp, County Kildare; and, if so, when the lands are likely to be divided.

The acquisition proceedings in this case have not yet been completed but they are well advanced.

Could the Minister indicate, approximately, when the acquisition proceedings will be completed?

The price was fixed on the 1st October, 1951. An appeal against the Order fixing the price was lodged on behalf of the owners on the 23rd November. The matter is now pending for hearing before the appeal tribunal. It does not seem, therefore, that possession can be taken this spring.
