Vol. 129 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Differential Renting System.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he will obtain and make available to the Dáil the basis and the method by which the Dublin County Council determines the economic rent on which the differential rents are based in County Dublin.

The standardised economic rent under the Dublin County Council's differential rents scheme is an amount which represents the full cost to the council of providing and maintaining the dwellings concerned, together with an appropriate charge for rates. No subsidies or grants are taken into account. The provision for maintenance includes the estimated cost of rent collection and administration.
