asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the number of income-tax payers which it is estimated ceased to be liable to income-tax because of the concessions contained in the Finance Act, 1951.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Liability to Income-Tax.
Information as to the exact number of persons totally relieved from income-tax by reason of the provisions contained in the Finance Act, 1951, is not available. However, having regard to the information revealed by a count which was carried out within recent months of the number of taxpayers for 1950/51, it is estimated that the figure for 1951/52 would be in the neighbourhood of 10,000.
