Vol. 129 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milk Board Contracts.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the number of producers in each county in the Dublin district sales area who had a contract registered with the Milk Board in the year 1951, the average daily amount supplied by each county and the average quantity supplied per producer.

Mr. Walsh

As the Dublin Sale District comprises only the county borough of Dublin, the administrative county of Dublin and the urban district of Bray, I presume the Deputy has in mind the Dublin Production District and not the Dublin Sale District.

I stand corrected.

Mr. Walsh

The number of producers in each county in the Dublin Production District who have entered into approved contracts for the sale of milk to registered wholesalers and retailers during the period 1st October, 1951 to 30th September, 1952, are:—

Co. Carlow

60

,, Dublin

572

,, Kildare

322

,, Louth

127

,, Meath

893

,, Westmeath

25

,, Wexford

76

,, Wicklow

413

The collection and compilation of statistics relating to the supply of milk to the Dublin Sale District for the year 1951 have not yet been completed by the Dublin District Milk Board and accordingly it is not possible at present to furnish the remaining particulars required by the Deputy.
