Vol. 129 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of Bog Roads.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will have arrangements made for the improvement of existing and the provision of new roads in the Dublin Mountains to facilitate access to turf banks by persons cutting their own turf.

A substantial sum was allocated in 1951-52 for the repair of bog roads on the Dublin-Wicklow border. These works are at present in progress.

Proposals for additional road works in this area have been received and are being investigated in connection with the 1952-53 programme of bog development schemes.
