Vol. 130 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Holding.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that a tenant of a 30-acre holding in Dunquin, County Kerry, signified his assent to migrate to a suitable farm in Bantry early last year; and, if so, whether he will state what steps his Department has taken to bring about this exchange with a view to having houses built on the holding in Dunquin for the inhabitants of the Blasket Islands.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given to his question on 19th March, 1952, about the residents of the Blasket Islands.

The owner of a holding in Dunquin has indicated his willingness to migrate if he is provided with a suitable holding and the Land Commission are pursuing inquiries into this matter.
