Committee on Finance. - Sea Fisheries Bill, 1952—Money Resolution and Financial Resolution.

I move:—

That for the purpose of any Act of the present Session to provide for the improvement and regulation of the sea-fishing industry and for matters (including the charging of fees on certain licences) connected with the matters aforesaid it is expedient to authorise—

(a) the payment to the board established by such Act, out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas, of grants towards expenses;

(b) the advance to the board, out of the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof, of sums (not exceeding in the aggregate £500,000) to enable the board to exercise or perform their functions;

(c) the charge on and payment out of the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof of the principal of and interest on any securities issued for the purpose of borrowing under such Act of the present Session;

(d) the payment out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas of the expenses of carrying such Act into execution.

That there may be charged on fish sales licences granted by the Minister for Agriculture under statutory authority such fees as may be fixed by the Minister, with the consent of the Minister for Finance.
