Vol. 130 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Annagry Factory.

asked the Minister for Lands if, in view of the fact that his Department do not propose making any use of Annagry factory, County Donegal, he will consider letting the hall at a nominal rental to the local boxing club.

Mr. Lynch

The premises at Annagry is required for storage accommodation in connection with the industries operated by the Gaeltacht Services Division. It is not available for letting.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary indicate what industries are operated in the area by Gaeltarra Éireann? None, as far as I am aware.

Mr. Lynch

An industry is operating at Crolly. These premises are used in connection with storage facilities for the Crolly factory.

They are out-offices for the Crolly factory?

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that Deputy Blowick, then Minister for Lands, stated during the Donegal by-election that this premises was to be used as a knitting factory? Can the Parliamentary Secretary ascertain from the records of the Department of Lands whether or not any such proposal was approved by that Department or whether it was just a political ramp?

That is an entirely different question.

Whether it was or not, it is not a knitting factory yet.
