Vol. 131 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Cork Committee of Public Health Tenders.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether tenders have been received for approval by his Department from the North Cork Committee of Public Health; and, if so, if he will indicate when these tenders will be approved.

I have issued approval recently to the acceptance by the Northern Committee of Cork County Council of tenders for housing schemes at Banteer, Rockchapel, Knocknagree, and Newmarket, and for 346 cottages on scattered rural sites. No further tenders for housing work are at present before my Department for approval.

I have also received from the committee proposals to accept tenders for the sinking of bore wells at Liscarroll and Churchtown. Consideration of these tenders has been deferred pending a decision as to the purchase price proposed to be paid for the sites of the wells.
