Vol. 131 No. 1

Written Answers. - Cost-of-Living Index.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the estimated rise in the cost-of-living index (calculated on the basis of the old cost-of-living index abandoned in 1947) as a result of the withdrawal of the food subsidies as announced in the Budget.

It is estimated that the rise, as a result of the withdrawal of the food subsidies as announced in the Budget, in the former cost-of-living index calculated to the base July, 1914=100, would have amounted to 29 points.
